3. Lockdown Fitness Challenge

Reading Hockey and Sport in Mind Lockdown Fitness Challenge

With all of us under the restrictions of a National Lockdown the one thing we are all being encouraged to do is get outside, enjoy the fresh air and take on some form of exercise.

What better way of doing this than by challenging yourself, family and friends to a target and at the same time raising money for the club and for a local charity - Sport in Mind - www.sportinmind.org

The Reading Hockey/Sport in Mind Fitness Challenge involves you clocking up the miles through either Running, Walking and Cycling and being sponsored for each mile you do. Ideally we would love to see you complete 100 miles by 20th February, but we leave that target to you!

Sport in Mind is a local charity with a simple mission: "To improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity"

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem every year. Sport in Mind has supported the recovery of over 12,500 local people experiencing mental health problems, 94% of these people have seen their mental well-being and self-esteem improve. Reading Hockey Club hope to provide more financial support to allow Sport in Mind to carry on their good work supporting anyone experiencing mental health problems, especially there may be many more people accessing their services due to the impact of lockdown and anxiety caused by a number of lockdowns.

So let’s BEAT those lockdown blues by grabbing those trainers and getting outside to take on those miles.

A sponsorship form can be found below and please visit Virgin Money to donate any money you raise.

All money raised from this event will be spilt 50:50.
