Safeguarding and Protecting Young People

Reading Hockey Club, as an affiliated member of England Hockey (EH), is committed to ensuring that all young people who play hockey have a safe and positive experience. To this end, Reading Hockey Club:

  • has adopted the EH Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy;
  • is committed to complying with best practice that may from time to time be issued by EH;
  • is committed to ensuring that best practice is followed in all matters relating to young people;
  • and is committed to ensuring a duty of care to all Club members by adopting and implementing the EH Equity Policy and future versions of this Policy

You should feel safe and enjoy playing hockey. If you are concerned about poor practice or abuse against young people, please contact one of your Club Welfare Officers – Sue Walden (0118 9833892), Ian Ashby (01784 432056) and Sue Warren.
