Like just about every other hockey club in the country, Reading runs through the hard work of volunteers – either in specific roles on its various committees or helping out on an ad hoc basis with the various activities that make the club tick.

You will find here details of any particular roles or activities where we need volunteer support – give some time if you are able to – many hands make light work as they say!

Calling all Members – Play-offs 2013/14

Reading Hockey Club is delighted to be hosting the Now: Pensions Men’s League Finals weekend and the Investec Ladies Finals Weekend, the culmination of the national league play-offs and cup competitions, over the weekends of 5-6 April and 12-13 April 2014.
The club is also hosting an International Now: Pensions Nations Cup England vs Ireland game on the evening of Thursday 10 April. There will be a few of our 1st team playing in this game for both sides.

The aim of hosting the events is to reinforce Reading Hockey Club’s excellent reputation as the pre-eminent hockey club in England. In addition the goal is to raise its profile outside of the sport nationally and in the local area, to create an image that Reading is the automatic choice as a centre of excellence for hockey and the leading venue in the country. Reading Men and Ladies have both qualified to play in their respective competitions so the atmosphere will be electric!

In order to achieve this aim, your club needs YOU. The help of each and every member of the club and the extended hockey family will be required. We need a teams of helpers to work during the day and, although some will be able to join us for the complete days, we recognise that many of our fantastic volunteers may only be able to come along for a section of time.
If you would like to come and help, we will need to know the days and times that you intend to come along, so that we can ensure that all the areas have enough cover for people to take breaks and be able to watch some of the games.
