With the aim of developing club hockey at an international level, the European Hockey Federation, in co-operation with Dutch sports marketing and media agency PRO SPORT, introduced the Euro Hockey League, the exciting new format that replaced the mens European Cup competition at the start of the 2007/2008 season.  The Euro Hockey League takes place over several weekends throughout the season.

Reading have qualified for the Euro Hockey League 2011/2012 for the 5th successive season – the only English club to achieve this.  Reading have always reached the final 16, on two occasions the final 8, and last year made it to the final 4, winning an historic Bronze medal – the first top 4 appearance by an English club in this competition – this year we will be hoping to go one better reach the final itself…

The first round of competition will be played at KHC Dragons in Antwerp Belgium from 21-23 October 2011. In Reading’s group will be Cookstown of Ireland and the Dutch club Amsterdam – with the top 2 progressing to the KO16 round of the competition in Holland at Easter.

More details on the competition and the competing teams can be found on the official website…
