Beeston 2 Reading 3

PETER (Pedro) SCOTT's first ever goal in the NOW: Pensions League put Reading on their way to a tremendous win at Beeston

on Sunday.
Just two weeks ago Blues had thrown away a four-goal lead and became the first side to lose to Brooklands MU this season.
But this was a hugely-improved performance against last season's champions, wh
o
had come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Sonning Lane last month.
Coach Andy Watts described it as an "extremely pleasing result."
He added: "It was a really disciplined performance, which showed what we are capable of.
"It was most pleasing to see the game out, as we have been in good positions in nearly all games this season.
"There has been an excellent response since the disappointment of the Brooklands game. The guys have pulled together and worked hard in training."
Scott opened the scoring three minutes before half-time and this boosted the team's confidence going into the second half.
They came under pressure, but keeper Tommy Alexander kept out the Beeston penalty corners, while Blues also defended well with Richard Springham particularly outstanding.
Reading, however, couldn't stop Sam Ward netting for the Bees on the hour mark and the equaliser sparked off a late flurry of goals.
Jack Whalen, another of the team's promising youngsters, restored the visitors' lead in the 65th minute and two minutes later the in-form Tom Carson
netted
for Reading, his third goal in as many games.
Soon afterwards, Ward pulled a goal back, but Reading held out for a thoroughly-deserved win.
Reading, who remain fifth in the table, take on second-placed Surbiton at home on Sunday (2.30).
