Rascals made to work hard for three points
Rascals work hard for 3-1 win over Wallingford 5
The Rascals were made to work very hard for their 3-1 win on Saturday against Wallingford 5 with the score poised at 1-0 for most of the second half the points were only secured by a late goal 5 minutes before the end.
Rascals dominated most of the game with some excellent passing and build up play but were unable to score the important first goal until just before half time. The much changed Wallingford side from the one played earlier in the season and who fielded a very gifted keeper recovering from injury, the young Rascals side became increasingly frustrated with the problems they were experiencing with finding the net.
A good half time team talk which focused on those last few seconds and how to beat the keeper kept the team focused and continue their dominance.
The win saw the Rascals take top spot after an excellent performance from fellow Reading side Rovers beating the leaders Thame 7-1 and the other Wallingford site beat second place South Berks 1-0 later in the afternoon.
