U18 Girls: Trojans 1 Reading 5

By Reading Hockey Club • Nov 12th, 2008 • Category: Match Reports, U18 Girls

We all arrived bright and breezy at drizzly Stoneham Lane; a few tucked into breakfast whilst the rest of us had been up when it was still dark when they tucked into theirs! The girls where aloud on the pitch for a rather short warm-up followed by a minutes silence for Rememberance Sunday.

Reading may have arrived what seemed like hours before the home team, it was Trojan’s who was came out of the blocks all guns a blazing with an early break. After a few worrying moment its didn’t take Reading too long before they settled and started firing in a few shots of their own. Three of which headed goal bound in the first half with 5 or 6 very unlucky not to go in also.
The 2nd half was just as good with Reading playing some really beautiful hockey, everyone worked so well with some very silky short corners with so many unlucky not to go in, unlikely for Reading the Trojan’s goalkeeper was incredibly good, making some terrific saves off some even greater Reading shot’s.
Well done to everyone brilliant team effort…now onto the 3rd round J yayyyy!
