M4: Reading Musketeers 1 Spencer 2

A strong side fielded.

Not strong enough up front though.

Chances went wayward ? unfortunately he Wayward was not on top scoring form.

Short corners seem to be just another excuse for a 16 to the oppo.

Nothing was really working out in the last 25 yards.

Hard work by the midfield and hard defending by left and right backs kept the game in the middle of the pitch.

With half time being 0 ? 0 and both teams trying the patience of the umpires it was going to be a scrappy second half.

Spencer took the advantage, just when Reading had the pressure. Sumo was short changed on a pass by young-un Richard. This left a 3 on 1 and Spencer managed to reverse stick a ball home in the corner of the goal past a stranded Liz.

Minutes later they were given a short corner for an innocuous rugby tackle by young-un Richard. This resulted in a well-fumbled routine with a surprised left slip topping the ball over the floundering Liz in goals, who dived the right way for the intended shot, but was done by the miss hit, as was the defender on the post (where last week he kept it out with the use of the trusty right leg).

Reading pressed but to no good ? with forwards having ?one of those days? = again!

They did manage to force the balk home, when Spag decided enough was enough on shorts and tried the simple option ? shoot! This resulted in another short and Kiff managed to hit his shot at near by Laurence who turned the ball goal ward for Adrian (lipstick and teddy chucker) to slot the ball in.

End score ? was a loss to Reading.

Even more surprising was the fact that young-un Richard was nominated Man of the Match. A cruel world and blow for the rest of the team who tried so hard to get the votes.

Tin of chopped tomatoes went to Adrian (goal scorer!) for being keen to win the ball!!

Welcome to the bizarre world of democratic voting!
