Rebels: Rebels 9 – 0 Henley

And the Rebels keep marching on! Played 13 – won 13!!
The Rebels were ruthless today against a Henley side who early on were reduced to 10 players due to an injury. Tino you would have been very proud of the Rebels passing today,  we remembered the team talk from last week and spread the ball wide at every opportunity. The first goal came from Mary ‘the poacher’ Jones who sneaked a touch on a Sue Rogers shot. The same two players combined for the second goal, but this time it was a sublime pass from The Poacher and Sue slipped it past the keeper. The Rebels continued to push forward and excellent passing and movement led to further goals from The Poacher and Emza Talbot, and a fine solo effort from Sue Rogers, after going past 4 Henley defenders.

The second half saw Henley playing more defensively, but the Rebels kept up the pressure. More good play saw goals from The Poacher, and Jeanine Packham. The performance was capped by a fantastic strike from Laura Eagles. Persistent play from Mary Jones saw the ball laid back to Laura at the edge of the D, whose shot was past the keeper before she had a chance to react!! There were fine performances from the whole team, but special mention should go to Helen Cattermole, Hattie Jones, Becky Cadwallader, Laura Eagles, The Poacher, and Emza Talbot. Ellie Smith also deserves a mention for touching the ball a couple of times and not getting too bored!!

Can the Rebels continue this unbeaten run as they push for promotion??? To be continued!
