L2: Henley 0 – Reading 7
By Reading Hockey Club • Apr 8th, 2009 • Category: L2, Match ReportsReading travelled to Henley for a rearranged fixture determined to turn in a solid performance and defend Evans’ bet of a tenner.
The Dirty 2s started strongly and were quickly on the board when Jenjer found space in the D to turn and shoot. She added to her tally shortly after when she tapped in a shot from Chloe that was going wide.
Chloe scored from a blistering shot, and Ellie scored soon after as she ran onto a pass and slammed the ball home. Jenjer got her hatrick from another tap in from the right and we went to half time 5 goals up.
The second half started much as the first, with the Dirty 2s working the ball well all over the pitch and everyone sharing the workload – a likely legacy from playing the day before in tropical conditions and the team dinner in between.
The Dirty 2s scored twice more as Jenjer slammed in crosses from Chloe and Joss, and we were unlucky not to add to our 7 goals as we were unable to convert from a series of late short corners.
Team: Lex, Holly, Evans, Melman, Witters, Suzi, Jos, Jenjer, Ellie, Chloe, Laura and Random.
MOTM – Jenjer – 5 goal extravaganza!
DOTD – Chloe – just because!!
Thanks to the away crowd of various ‘rents and to the lovely Tino, ably assisted by the lovely Santa in running the bench.
The Dirty 2s have one last fixture to play – after Easter on the 18th April, a 10am start at home against Phoenix & Ranalagh – Noisy home crowd welcome!
Bring it!
