U14 Teams going strong

Reading U14 Boys and Girls teams have both qualified for the England Hockey regional finals being held at Reading Hockey Club on Sunday 10 April.

Playing in the Midlands division, the boys qualified in second place in their qualifying group with impressive wins over Aylesbury (3-0), Banbury (7-0), Amersham (2-0) and Marlow (6-2), with a single loss to Wycombe (0-1).

The girls went one better, easily winning their group in the South division with a perfect five out of five record. Comprehensive wins were recorded against Maidenhead (3-2), Marlow (7-0), Woking (5-0), Guildford (4-0) and Amersham (7-0).

In the regional finals this Sunday, both teams will play in groups of three with the winners proceeding to the final. The girls will play against Richmond and Eastbourne whilst the boys’ opposition will be Stourport and local rivals Marlow.

Matches start at 10.30am with the finals of both competitions at 4.15pm. A bar and BBQ will be operating throughout the day.
