Reading Ladies 2s 6 Sonning 0
By Reading Hockey Club • Oct 10th, 2012 • Category: L2, Match ReportsOn Saturday the 6th October, Reading Ladies 2’s took on Sonning Ladies at Sonning Lane water pitch. With a defeat from last weekend against Maidenhead Ladies, Reading came out with fighting spirit, with Krystina Snaith and Phoebe Wilkinson making their league debut for the 2’s this season.
With the midfield players linking well with defence and forwards we were able to create multiple opportunities with some wasted ones within the first half. However, when Sonning had a break and were able to get around the Reading defence, Georgia Boother who stepped up to play goal keeper, made some fantastic saves and was able to keep a level head under pressure.
In the second half, Reading really came together with some excellent linking between Charlotte Watt and Lucy Scott down the left hand side, and Lucy’s fast pace resulted in numerous short corners, with Badger, coming up from defence, scoring a goal.
As the match came to a close, Reading won 6 to 0 with goals from Lucy Scott (2), Steffi Roth (2), Holly Banham and Badger. Sophie Liu and Lucy Scott got joint man of the match, with Sophie’s fantastic block tackles and working back having earned her this position.
