On Saturday 10th November, Reading Ladies 3As travelled to a very chilly Newbury and Thatcham for a late push back.

The team started quite well and contained a good Newbury and Thatcham side who had several chances which were saved and dealt with well by the Reading defence. Unfortunately the pressure on the Reading goal continued and in a frantic 15 minute period in the 1st half, Newbury and Thatcham scored 4 goals with no reply to leave the score a very flattering 4-0 at half time.

Reading regrouped at half time and came out fighting, playing some good attacking hockey, winning short corners, hitting the post and missing the goal by a whisker on various occasions. However, they were very unlucky not to score any goals. Defensively, they played with much more maturity in the 2nd half and Newbury and Thatcham were contained and the score remained 4-0 throughout.
