M3: Season Review

London League Division Three
Season 2006/07
After a fantastic season last year, where we were promoted as Champions, this season was a big disappointment for all concerned in the 3s and there isn’t much in the way of positives to talk about. I’d rather forget about it and look ahead to next season. I didn’t particularly enjoy it and I don’t think many of the guys did either. Bah Humbug.
I totted up the squad changes we incurred from the start to the end and it was ridiculous the amount of players in/out. This did not enable the team to settle with any consistent performances, or gel as well we would have liked to. Allied to this Barry was not around for the first few games and the lack of quality umpiring and you have a big bunch of demotivated players before most of our games started (as well as a pretty hacked off Captain).
We do have a good core of players who will know each other and be up for it next season so I think we are all looking forward to that.
Player of the season was Will Hall by a mile. He had a slow start with injuries etc but really shone through in the end for his consistency and determination. Also worth commending for consistency were Tim Lavers, Neil Barback and Posh.
Big love,
Rez
Captain
