Good Luck Boys
By Reading Hockey Club • May 24th, 2007 • Category: Home Page, M1, NewsReading Mens 1XI finally come to the end of their long and successful this weekend with the EuroHockey European Club Champions Cup 2007, the last year the tournament will be held in this format. The tournament is being hosted by Bloemendaal who came to Sonning Lane last Easter for the EuroHockey European Cup Winners Cup and beat our boys in the final to take gold. Our guys had done superbly well to even get to the final after an epic and unforgettable semi against Alster and playing the tournament without our internationals. This year with a full and fit squad can we go to their place this year and go one better?
To even get to the final Reading will need to get results against three of Europe’s finest club teams.
Friday: KS Pocztowiec Poznan (Poland)
Saturday: Crefelder HTC (Germany)
Sunday: Kelburne HC (Scotland)
We’ll try to keep you updated with news from the camp and Reading’s travelling supporters as we receive it otherwise the official site is http://www.eccc07.com/en
In other news there is an English field filled once again with Bandits this weekend as Reading’s touring side also head off for their traditional big weekender and will be looking to defend their title of most sociable team at Chester.
