Mens Title Showdown

By Reading Hockey Club • Mar 13th, 2008 • Category: Feature, M1, News

This Sunday (16th March) the Men’s 1st XI play East Grinstead at Sonning Lane at 2:30pm. With us beating Canterbury last week and EG beating Cannock, this becomes a first versus second clash. We are 8 points clear of EG and 9 ahead of Cannock with 3 games left - so a draw will be enough on Sunday for the boys to clinch the league again.

This is also the last EHL home game of the season as the final two league games are away (at Beeston and Havant) and we have also been drawn away to Bowdon in the semi-finals of the cup.

It will be great to have as big a crowd as possible to cheer the boys on to retaining their league title and to celebrate such a fantastic domestic season.

Don’t forget the Men travel to Barcelona over Easter to take on Cannock in Round 2 of the Euro Hockey League.

  1. Sounds like another excellent season for the club and congratulations to the guys who helped secure a berth in Beijing for GB hockey. Good luck this weekend, Charlie Oscroft
