RAAJ Festival

By Reading Hockey Club • Apr 14th, 2008 • Category: Feature, In Brief, News

The Reading Real Ale and Jazz Festival is an annual event organised and hosted by the club. Ronan will have already met with most of you and discussed the merits and importance of the event, Briefly, for those that did not get to one of these meetings. It’s a very important part of the clubs history and enables us to provide and maintain the finest Hockey club in the country. Not only is this a big fund-raising event for us, but it really puts our club in the spotlight. Proving that we can, as a club, host and manage large events.

It may seem a long was away, but time goes fast and its time to get the dates into your diaries. Here they are:

Festival - 17th-19th July 2008
Build-up - 14th - 17th July 2008
Breakdown – 20th July 208

The website is currently being updated, but you can check out the new information as it is added.

The event staff is made up of members of the club. That’s you!! We rely on our members to provide the man-power for this event. The club provided us all with matches, social events, and training every week.
This is what we ask for in return.

There are various jobs on offer over the weekend, and in the week that leads up to the event. These range from serving at the bar, collecting and washing up glasses to preparing food and serving on the BBQ! The event is great fun whatever job you are doing, and I sure all the previous attendees will agree!

Your captain should soon be badgering your for your availability. Failing that you can speak to myself direct (contact details below), alternatively, signup sheets can even be filled in at the club and handed in to the bar.
