Aylesbury 1 – Reading 2s 2

18th January

So not the easiest of places to find with several team members pretty lost. Especially the coach Yvonne Craven who was last to turn up.

The changing room was filled with the smell of deep heat, mushy banana banter and also the smell of ‘lemon paint’, hey Phoebe??

After a good warm up and a session of objections setting we were good to go. As the game had started it took us a little while to find our feet. Aylesbury were quite attacking to start with but our solid defence soon put a stop to that and kept them out. We found our feet and pushed up on the attack and Sophie L got an awesome shot away which gave us the lead we needed. Half time was called shortly after which gave us time to re group, set the lucky Smurf and go again.

The second half started well with some very solid hockey. The defence were doing an awesome job in keeping Aylesbury away, with Phoebe doing a great job sitting on their main forward and not giving her a look in and Brittany making some storming runs here there and every where!!

Our crowd of supportive parents were doing a good job cheering on from the sidelines.

The ball came out from defence through to midfield and LC picked it up and ran it in to the D and got a shot off only for their defender to stop it on the line with her foot. *penalty flick* awarded. LC took it and scored. 2 nil!!

We then had a slight lapse and let them win one back. After that we spent most the time camped in their 25 and managed to win a few short corners. Sophie S managed to get a few drag flicks on target. The oppositions face never gets old after seeing Sophie drag flick at them.. Priceless!!

Final score 2-1. We love to win.

MOM – Britt (any one got any pics of her in the superman shorts?)
DOD – LC (due to unfair voting)
