This was an impressively professional performance from the Blues, despite missing their U18s (who won 13-1!), in their final league game before the winter break as they travelled away from home on a miserable winter morning.  From the opening moments of the warm up, to the final whistle, you could tell this was a squad [...]

L1: Eastcote 0 Reading 4 (Cup)

By Ali Pope • Oct 13th, 2008 • Category: L1, Match Reports

Reading were frustrated by the failure of the Sonning Lane watering system on Saturday to deny them a first home league match, but this meant they could dedicated all their energy to their opening cup round against Eastcote. With their junior contingent of Josie Inverdale, Becky Dru and Jenna Woolven on representative duty and Lou [...]

L1: Harleston Magpies 0 Reading 0

By Ali Pope • Oct 5th, 2008 • Category: L1, Match Reports

After their 7-0 opener last weekend, Reading found goals a little harder to come by this week against a competitive, albeit defensive Magpies side.  On a grey, windy and rain lashed day Reading had an early start and a trip to Norfolk, their longest league away fixture and the conditions certainly didn’t suit Reading’s passing [...]

Reading made a sparkling start to their EHL campaign with a comprehensive win over Kent side Sevenoaks.  Reading went into the league season in a confident mood, having come through their pre-season preparations undefeated, but even they couldn’t have anticipated such a a winning margin in their league opener. Reading had to wait 23 minutes [...]
