Refills End of Season Report
By Reading Hockey Club • Jun 18th, 2008 • Category: Match Reports, News, RefillsWithdrawn from London League Division Two
The second team to bite the dust this season was the saddest. The Refills are designed as the leap frog team for the colts, moving up from the Rascals and then into the elite squads. A combination of poor availability from the adults and sporadic availability from the Colts who were good enough for the squad meant that fixture after fixture was being played with too few players.
Poor communication from colts meant that Nick’s job was made harder still.
The overall shortage of players this season, meant that the squad could not be bolstered when it needed to and the Refills team looked less less and like the Refills team it should be.
After significant and lengthy debate between Captain, Colts Manager, Chairman and Club Captain, the decision was taken to withdraw the Refills from the League (just after Christmas), and re-enter the team next season.
It is our ambition to revive the squad and enter them back into Division Three, where they were destined in any case!
