Have your Say

England Hockey wants to increase the breadth of its adult competitions programme for adults to increase participation in our sport. We hope to engage with as many clubs and hockey players to see how we can make our players’ and teams’ competition experiences better and more relevant to your needs based firmly on the insight you provide.

Between 2014-2016 England Hockey conducted a Players’ Survey with over 6000 respondents. One of the key messages from that survey was that players wanted different ways to play the game. This included playing in small sided games, playing midweek and in the summer.

Entries to our current Mixed and Masters knockout competitions have remained strong but we have seen a trend of reducing entries in our Cup, Trophy, Vase and 2nd XI competitions year on year.
Taking into account these factors England Hockey proposes to revise its adult competitions’ structure which could involve additional competitions in the summer and a reformatted tiered national cup competition during the traditional hockey season. England Hockey is not proposing any changes to our existing Mixed and Masters knockout competitions. For more detail of the proposed new adult competitions model see document attached...

The purpose of this short survey is to seek your views on the proposed new and revised adult competitions model. This survey closes on Sunday 30 October. Please use this link to take the survey
