Update from your Club Chairman, Tim Mann

Following a number of discussions and consultations, the hockey club has agreed to make a change to hockey training arrangements for the coming season, 2016/17.

The change will mean that club training nights for the Ladies’ and Men’s sections will be on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS for all members. Men’s general training will be on Tuesdays, Ladies’ general training will be on Thursdays and the performance squads will train on both Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. In addition, there will be training for the Boys Under 18 and Under 16 squads on Tuesday evenings, taking advantage of the performance teams’ availability for coaching. Further details and the exact timetables will be communicated through your club captains.

There are two main reasons for this:

  1. Requests from club members to have “club nights”, where both pitches and the cage are used by the club for the evening, encouraging opportunities for meeting more members and integrating between the sections;
  2. Changes to the EH calendar for junior regional players.

Further information on the training set up for next season will be shared over the coming weeks. We will also share news of the new arrangements for kit supply, use of the club database for team management, club day, fundraising and social activities. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please speak to your club captain: Rob Farrow (men), Nick Barton (veterans), Georgia Boother (ladies) or Judith Barton (colts).

I hope that you’re enjoying the summer.

Best wishes,

Tim
