It is with regret that we have to inform you of the deaths of two of our fellow Vice Presidents - Bill Colwill OBE and Ken Gladstone-Millar.

Bill Colwill took up umpiring after a playing career and was much sought after as an official of the Southern Counties/London League. At the same time he was invited to be the hockey correspondent for the Independent and became a well known, knowledgeable and respected friend of hockey.
Bill particularly liked coming to Reading and was a great supporter of the Club through the media. He was one of the main supporters of encouraging the club to host the Cup Winners Cup held at Reading in 1997.
His son, Peter, has followed him into hockey journalism. His funeral will take place on 30 November 2016 at Amersham Crematorium at 5.15 p.m.

Ken worked as a jazz presenter for Radio 210. He had helped Chichester HC run their jazz festival and was approached by John Miller to assist him select the bands for our first RAAJ festival. He continued to organise the music for us and was the compere each night for at least 10 years. Ken also followed the fortunes of the Club and was always knowledgeable about the progress of the Men's 1st XI.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Bill and Ken
