Goal for Tom, but to no avail !

Reading 1 Cannock 0
Written by Dave Wright - Reading Post

This match on Saturday evening was abandoned at half-time due to poor visibility.
All the opening 35 minutes was played in mist, which formed a blanket under the floodlights.
The game was stopped after 10 minutes, but resumed eight minutes later and Tom Carson put Reading ahead from their second penalty corner of the game.
Cannock hit back and forced Blues keeper Tommy Alexander into making two fine saves from penalty corners.
Although there were times when visibility slightly improved, it remained a constant problem for the umpires right up to half-time.
It was still poor when the teams returned to the pitch and match official Ray Strudwick decided to abandon the game in the interest of players' safety.
Any high ball in the mist could certainly have proved dangerous.
But most of the players were prepared to continue and within 20 minutes of the game ending conditions certainly became playable with the mist appearing to follow spectators out of the ground.
Both clubs are now awaiting to hear a new date for the fixture.
Reading's next game is at Beeston on Saturday.
