3A's too good for Bicester

First league win of the season!

The ladies 3A's started the game playing fast, attacking hockey. It wasn't long before there was an interception by Carine who passed inside to Amy, on to Molly, back to Amy who rounded a player on the edge of the D, slipped the ball to Molly who was running in and slapped the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 after 10 mins

This was followed by a great ball from Jess M across to Amy who dribbled to the top of the D - good effort, no goal. Soon afterwards, there was a great run in the middle by Flo who passed to Blanche at the top of the D. Blanche did a great strike and forced a body save by the keeper.

Two minutes of pressure in defence saw a great double save by Charlie but eventually the 3A's conceded a short corner which was saved by another good save from Charlie. A through ball to Bicester led to a 1v1 with a defender who cleared the ball to the to top of the D but it was then picked up by Bicester who had a clear strike at goal 1-1 at half time.

Bicester came out strong at the beginning of the second half and forced a corner in the first minute. It was defended well by Jess who passed a great ball to Sue, on to Blanche on the penalty spot who easily put it past the keeper's feet: 2-1. Charlie made some awesome saves and Flo defended well. At the other end, Reading earned a corner, through great play by Amy and Carine, which was shot by Jess. A goal mouth scramble by Blanche led to a long corner and a bouncing shot by Gaby went in the goal: 3-1. Reading were on a roll. Another penalty corner strike by Rachel to the post and Sue stole it on the line: 4-1.

Bicester didn't give up and had a penalty corner well saved by Charlie with a glancing deflection. Yet another penalty corner followed for Reading which resulted in many shots at goal and eventually Jess M shot a goal with the last play of the game: 5-1

Overall, a great effort by the whole team and everyone played their part. Looking forward to next week!
