Momentum starting to build
On the 15th October 2016 the lads made the trip to London to face wimbledons. Despite a late appearance from the player/coach (Chris Powell if you were wondering not Pete Roseff) the day started well with some quality bants going on in the changing room.
The game got off to a feisty start with the dings applying some high pressure and keeping the ball really well round the back as well as through midfield, this early pressure lead to a short corner goal from Mike Cullimore that fizzed into the bottom corner.... However this early pressure was soon cancelled out by a wimbledon goal. Reading managed to withstand waves of attack from the opposition whilst still offering a dangerous threat in attack with the likes of Max CK pulling off some tricks and that.
In the second half reading went out to absolutely batter a 10 man opposition and we definitely succeeded in this with 3 goals. These came from Max CK with a poachers goal, Ali Parkes with a lethal drag flick and a llyody special (if you know you know). Reading yet again held off waves of attack bar one slip and the game finished 4-2.
The day ended with a 50 mile trek to the Wimbledon club house and some high quality Chirpsing from Chris Powell, unfortunately the same cannot be said for Simon Culmer. Motm went to the Great Wall of Terry for another solid performance and DOTD to Simon Culmer for multiple errors throughout his time at reading hockey club.
