Bad Day at the Office
M3s lose to Amersham and Chalfont
Reading, with a few players missing unavailable, took on a well organised and focused Amersham and came out second best.
Amersham, who played with pace throughout, dominated the first half as the Reading players failed to deliver the quality and consistency that has marked recent performances. Three goals put Amersham firmly in charge before an early second half mini revival threatened to change the balance of the game. A tidy finish from Cam Ellis and a superbly taken volley from Chris Wright
put Reading back in to the game at 3-2.
A fourth goal for Amersham killed the game off. The Reading players, probably for the first time this season, seemed to lose their self-belief and allowed Amersham to take the scoreline to an unacceptable 7-2 without the determination that they have previously shown in tough encounters.
Amersham on this form were far and away the best team the Men's 3s have played this season. The disappointment was Reading's inability to step up when it mattered.
