Bookings now being taken

2015 sees a number of both Classic and Performance camps.

The Classic camp is available to players of all ability and runs over 2 days in half terms and 3 days in the summer holidays.

Throughout the year, we found that a one day Performance Camp was simply not enough time to work with such capable players. This is why we have extended the Performance Camps to two days with a range of dates over the summer.

The Classic camps also include the Bluesticks Award, a unique skills test designed to measure individual skills of all players. This has been modified for 2015 to include Junior, Intermediate and Senior level awards.

The team of coaches has expanded further and includes a number of International and Premier League players. The summer saw John Jackson (Captain of Ireland), Tom Carson (England & GB), Simon Mantell (England & GB), Dan Shingles(England &GB) Jo Ellis (England & GB) & Leah Wilkinson (Wales), to name but a few, coaching on the camps and passing on their invaluable experience.

The email contact for the camps is camps@readinghockeyclub.org.uk, where you can contact Andy Watts who both directs and coaches on our camps programme. Please also follow us on Twitter @ReadingHCCamps

FAQS

What do I need to bring with me?
All players attending day courses are required to bring a packed lunch. They should bring their own personal sports equipment including stick, trainers/astro shoes, shin pads & gum shields. It is also advised that players bring suitable protection for all weather conditions – sun cream, hat, waterproofs, etc. Players bring valuables with them at their own risk and wherever possible are advised not to do so.

How are groups allocated?
All players are divided into groups according to age and ability. Players will be constantly assessed by their group coach; enabling quick and correct decisions to be made on groupings. This will maximize enjoyment and progression whilst minimizing injury risk.
Who coaches on the courses? All courses will be led by Reading HC 1st XI players as well as experienced and qualified coaches.

How do I book?
To book a player on to any Reading Hockey Camp, a 2015 Booking Form should be completed online. Once the form is completed, the payment made and the button is clicked you can be sure that we have all the information necessary, including emergency contact details and any relevant medical issues. An automatic confirmation will be sent to you.

How do I pay?

Please make either a BACS transfer online or send a cheque to the details shown on the booking form. The BACS transfer should use the player’s surname and month of camp attending as a reference.

What information will I get once I have successfully placed a booking?
Once you have registered your child/children, you will see an instant message confirming the child’s registration details. If you wish to make any changes before the course please contact us directly on camps@readinghockeyclub.org.uk and advise us of the alterations.

Can I provide feedback?
Feedback is very important to us in raising our standards and making the camps as enjoyable as possible for your children. We would welcome your thoughts on the whole process from booking through to how the camp was delivered and the facilities.

How do I get a refund or make a cancellation?
In the event of course cancellation by Reading Hockey Camps, all monies will be refunded. If the Player cancels less than 7 days from the start of the course there will be 75% refund. If the Player cancels more than 7 days from the start of the course there will be a full refund.
