Veterans End of Season Report 2008 18/06/2008
Wessex Masters League – 5th place
The Veterans had a very enjoyable and reasonably successful season in the Wessex Supervets Fixtures Alliance League.
The results were:
League: Played 18: Won 9: Lost 7: Drew 2: Goals for 55; Against 32.
Friendlies: Played 4: Won 2: Lost 2: Goals for 6: Against 13.
Leading goal scorers: Martyn Palmer 14, Richard Higginson 13 & Keith Hunt 8.
We finished 5th in a league 14 teams.
A Pool of 20 plus, was probably too big and this will have to be reduced next season.
Thanks to Geoff Ash for skippering, for David van Beesten, (injured) & Jimmy Balsden for umpiring. Keith Hunt not only dazzled on the wing but provided rock solid admin for the whole season, a great performance for our benefit.
A great end of season function was held on Saturday 19th April attended by 30 people.
We look forward to 2008/09.
