Many congratulations to the U11 boys and girls who both won the Berkshire round and go forward to play in the South regional tournaments on 26 April (girls) and 27 April (boys).
Neil Boddington (boys) and Don Williams (girls) will be running the two teams and they will be communicating with the squads direct about training preparations and the tournament itself.
End of Season Fun Morning - Sunday 20 April
Once again we end the season with a fun morning. There will be parents v players matches from 9.30-11.00 followed by a BBQ. All parents are encouraged to play.
As always help with running the BBQ on the day would be greatly appreciated. Proceeds will be used to fund the five new goalkeeping sets we have just bought.
SUMMER HOCKEY
Following on from last summer’s successful fortnightly Sunday fun sessions we are extremely lucky to have secured the services of Jo Ellis, a professional coach and a member the GB ladies team preparing for the Beijing Olympics. Jo was at our training session on Sunday 6 April to meet people and take bookings for the summer coaching programme.
Saturday Coaching Clinics
Jo will run half day coaching clinics at the club on Saturdays mornings from 9.00am-12.00pm and Saturday afternoons from 2.00pm-5.00pm. Dates are 24 May, 31 May, 7 June and 21 June.
The clinics are open to this year’s U12 and U10. Cost is £15 per clinic (ie morning or afternoon session) or £50 for four clinics. Cheques payable to RCHC are required to secure booking.

Private Lessons
Jo Ellis will also be offering private lessons for groups of one to three players to help them develop core individual skills. Jo is available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings, and occasionally at weekends. She is happy to coach players from U8 up to U18. Coaching will be in the training area next to the pitch at the club.

Berkshire County Academies
We understand that Berkshire will not be running academies this summer.
Pre-Season Coaching Camp
Terry Walden is planning this year’s pre-season coaching camp from Tuesday 26 August to Friday 29 August. Steve Hardy will again be the lead coach. Booking arrangements will be published in due course.

GB Ladies v Argentina
GB are playing two matches against world number 2 Argentina at the club on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 May. For details about tickets visit the England Hockey website.
