The Peter Williams Award
Presented to the Overall Reading Hockey Club Member who has shown huge Dedication, commitment, support to the club over the years

This year we will be introducing a new Award this year:

The Ravi Ghowry Goalkeeping Award,
sponsored by Mercian.

This award is in honour of our friend Ravi and hopefully is a fitting tribute to him. The award is to recognise the Goalkeepers in the club, be it Men, Ladies, Vets or Colts.

"It is for recognition of their performance, dedication, willingness to step in and support teams and their general commitment throughout the past year"

Nominations for the award:

Tommy Alexander
Tommy has been an exceptional asset to the club this season, performing highly whilst playing for the 1st XI and by being highly committed at helping develop the other goalkeepers in the club. With his goal keeper academy for the colts on a Monday night, the goalkeepers have learnt an awful lot whilst he has made them work hard but they have also had lots of fun and they all love it!
Through Tommy’s hard work and top performances in the National League, he has also earned a call up to the Scotland senior team where he recently competed in the World League series in Belfast helping Scotland achieve an excellent 3rd place.

Liz Smith
Liz has been prepared to play for all our GU16 teams and has stepped in at the last minute when needed on numerous occasions.
She has heavily contributed to help coach the younger players and was even coaching the under 12s on the same day that she wasn’t selected for a team she was so keen to play for. Despite the disappointment of not being selected Liz still turned up to support that team and is a prime example of someone you would want in your team.
Despite not knowing if she was a footballer or a hockey player last season. Liz has really moved on from last season and has attained Performance Centre status and is continuing with her rapid improvement.

Katie Goddard
Katie has shown excellent commitment across the whole club this season. She is always happy to help on camps and is a leader in our excellent U18 team and playing ladies 1as/2s.
Katie was also thrust into the deep end this season when she was selected for the 1st XI away at Clifton. Katie made some astonishing saves including one to deny Alex Danson a certain goal!

Abi Miller
Abi is the definition of a club person. She is always happy to help and has doubled up nearly every other week whilst taking it in her stride.
Abi is one of those unique players that has played across the entire section and has played in every team from the 2s down to the 4s and displays the same level of commitment and enthusiasm for whatever team she plays for!

Mila Welch
Mila is the youngest goalkeep to play in the Investec Womens Premier National League division at the age of 15. She stepped into the position during the first half of the season and held her own against some of the best women players in the country.
