2A's v Wimbledon 3'S
On an unusually hot September lunchtime the 2A’s travelled to Wimbledon looking for their first points of the season and after a 3-0 loss the H&W Zaks last week things needed to happen to get the season off and running.
Still having a very new team showed in the first half as passes were going astray with no more than 3 passes being stringed together at a time. Even though we had a problem keeping the ball , our defines stood strong with only one shot at goal from Wimbledon which luckily hit the right hand post.
At halftime we knew that keeping the ball was key and if a goal came then the game would change drastically towards either team due to both teams strength in defence. Without gaining any penalty corners in the first half, one came early in the second and Rob Farrow slotted home.
The Wimbledon heads were down and Reading took full advantage of this leading to a quick passing move ending in Ranjit finishing into an almost empty net. Reading then looked comfortable after the second goal and there was nothing Wimbledon could do to cause any problems.
A good win and great way to get the first points and season off and running
