Men's 3s bounce back at West Hampstead

After last weekend's horror show at the Lane the Men's 3s went to West Hampstead buoyed by the return of a few players. Reza Ansary, Tom Wright and Doug Whittaker all came back into the side. Lacking players who would claim to be defenders Reading decided that the best form of attack is attack. With that in mind and with the skipper losing the toss Reading still managed to take the lead in under a minute. West Hampstead gave the ball away too easily Ahmet Tuney put a good ball into the D and Rob Kearney managed to tuck a neat finish inside the post. Next up Chris Wright latched on to a through ball to fire home his seventh goal of the season. Reading extended the lead to three from a Penalty Corner when Tuney joined Wright on seven for the season.
West Hampstead were making chances of their own and came out strong after the break with a deflection at the back post but Reading replied almost immediately when some great passing from Tom Wright and Reza Ansary gave Pradeep Gangeswaran a tap in. West Hampstead scored again with a deflection from the top of the D which caught out Henry Saxby in goal but Tuney took his total to eight for the season from a low drag flick at a Penalty Corner.
The hosts went looking for a grandstand finish and brought the game back to 5-3 with another back post deflection (other post) but time was with the visitors who did the double over an opponent for the first time this season.
