Overall, Redsox had full control of the game against Crawley who offered little up front although they did look quite dangerous from the one corner mid-way through the second half. Hamish Pringle had a very good game for them at left half as they arrived a player short.
The first goal came from a switched short corner with goal bound shot from Rowan which Chris Armitage sought to “make sure” by touching it from about a foot out…… The second was a “roofer” from Damon, from the top right hand side of the circle, which went between the goalkeeper’s head and the crossbar – not a particularly large gap given how tall he was – he only moved after the ball had rattled around the rigging; probably very lucky that it didn’t connect with his head and the third was scored again by Chris Armitage with a reverse stick finish to a reverse stick cross from Fitty. Chris A is looking a good outside bet to end up as top gun for Redsox this season.
Next week we take on the strong Epsom side with the Redsox looking for revenge after their opening game of the season loss away.
Well done all, 6 wins out of our first 8 games is a great start to the season and if we win our three outstanding pre- Christmas games we will go into the break top of the league.
