An early start and 9 defenders did not make for our greatest day!
Richmond started strongly creating a number of opportunities and the Redsox struggled to keep possession. As a result, after a number of chances, Richmond scored from a short corner mid-way through the first half. The Redsox then started to create a few chances of their own but with nothing to show at half time.
We played slightly better in the 2nd half although still struggled to really penetrate the Richmond goal. One short corner was well saved by the GK and a number of promising attacks down the right fizzled out. At the other end, Martin made a number of good saves and our defence held strong to keep a 2nd half clean sheet. Richmond started to tire in the last 10 mins and we had more space in midfield but couldn’t get the equaliser. On balance, it was a fair result with Richmond being the stronger side on the day.
We remain top of the league and need 4 points from our remaining 3 matches. Let’s not leave it to the last game of the season… A win against OKs this Saturday will make things a lot more comfortable
