The Relics put out a strong side to secure their top of the table position over the Christmas break. With Paul Way making an impressive debut, the midfield looked in charge as Gavin and Rage took control. The first goal on six minutes came as a move down the right was swept in by Tim Green " The goal machine".
The much changed defence took time to settle but IG had few chances and Christian made it two as Roger Wall slipped him in on the left.
Barty made it three having failed to convert an easier chance moments earlier but IG got themselves on the score sheet just before the break from a short corner strike.
The second half saw the teams exchange goals, IG nipped in down the left to beat Boothers in goal and Christian settled the team down with his second, a fine strike from the left across the excellent keeper. Santa made it three for them but he couldn't manage any other presents at this festive time.
A good game of vets hockey played in excellent spirit by both sides. Special thanks to Peter H who sadly didn't get on but enjoyed the curry we had bravely laid on for them.
Merry Christmas
