Honours even

Pre-match was somewhat fraught and frankly disorganised, not helped firstly by the team getting caught in traffic close to the pitch and secondly by the oppo - who earlier in the week emailed and asked us not to wear sky blue so we duly arrived in navy, they then decided they wanted us to change back into sky which was fine, until when all of the team finally arrived it was realised not everyone had sky blue shirts so....you guessed back in navy everyone changes again!
Highlights:
Again started the game well with lots of possession but struggled to convert into chances and shots on goal. There was lots of great running up front from Hannah, Philippa, Frankie and Becci, supported by Charlotte, Abi T, Abi and Darcy with Beverley, Charlotte, Alice and Seona.
Just before half time Oxford's silver fox popped up and scored, making it 1-0 to Oxford, which Reading did not deserve. Reading went out in the second half determined to take the three points and almost looked like they were going to manage it. At a short corner slipped to Charlotte she put the ball in the back of the goal! 1:1!
Charlotte celebrated by shouting to the sideline 'I never score!'. So then on the next attack Charlotte picked up the ball just left of centre outside the D and dribbled round 3 players went one on one with the goalie and boom! 2:1 to Reading!
There were some shaky moments as Oxford pushed hard including Oxford's forward going one on one with Fran, but she stood firm. Sadly Oxford finally did find another goal making for a tense last few minutes. There were some great breakaways from the forwards but alas it stayed 2:2, and a game considered 2 points lost rather than a point gained.
However, the 2a's headed off for teas to sample Abi's cake, which you may have already seen from the photos and also that she cheated! The fairy on the cake definitely enjoyed the student union though!
