A lovely sunny day!
2a's vs Newbury & Thatcham 26/09
Result: 1-2
It was a lovely sunny day, temperatures at high teens and spirits were high in the team.
We started the game strong, moving off the ball and working hard for each other. The ball spent most of the time in N&T half however, it seemed Reading could not get it into the goal.
3 times N&T counter-attacked and unfortunately we conceded 2 unlucky goals. Half-time.
This did not dent Reading's spirit and after a motivating team talk from Bev-la we went back into the pitch knowing what we needed to do.
The effort levels throughout improved even though we tired towards the end. Due to the higher effort we passed the ball early and used the width of the pitch which eventually resulted in a ball sent from Hannah G to Tia to Hannah to Meg to score right before the whistle blew.
All the forwards throughout hunted the ball however, were unlucky not to score more. Charlotte controlled the game from the back with Charlotte (doing a great job as stand in captain)holding the teams structure throughout the game and in the press.
