It must be love

It was a muggy September (very) early morning start....Tracy stepped up in the
absence of the Captain & Vice Captain...her team talk started with "I remembered
to print the team sheet at midnight after too many wines..." However she forgot
to read other emails from Trina saying Janice was ill....but not to panic Jess
was borrowed from the 3As & stepped into the breach. Heidi was planning on being
manager again but despite still slowly dying played the first half. A deal was
struck with Liv that if she played more than 20mins she would be rewarded with a
pint after the game, she truly obliged playing 3/4 of the game.
We lined up against a mixed aged Maidenhead team with a couple of over sized
elongated teenagers up front.

Games started well with all the forwards in on the action in the D. There were
flashes of brilliance from Sandy & Liz & flashes of bright light from Tracy's
new astros as she ran constantly around the Maidenhead defence. A young midfield
of Henna & Jess supported the returning Amanda who, after admitting she may not
play this season, actually quite enjoyed her run out! New GK Amy commanded the
defence & has a shout as loud as Jules had so will keep us all on our toes!

Both goals were scored by Sandy, the first being a great team effort which was
rounded off by some play Trina would of been proud of!

A few incidences; Amanda attempting to plough through a few players & the
Maidenhead player head butting the ball but was stitched up by the supporters &
duly returned to the pitch, Tracy being knocked over by a 14 year old in our
defending D (yes you read that correctly, Tracy played every position on the
left this game including defender) & Tammy tripping over both feet attempting to
take a free hit & face planting (according to Heidi the Splash competition is
now open!), however did manage to clear a ball off the back line but couldn't
repeat it for their equaliser.

Player of the Match - Amy brilliant reflexes in goal to keep us in the game

Good luck to Kelly next weekend for her wedding she came through the game
unscathed!
