...and Tracy should have gone to spec savers.
2015 is off to a good start. Sandy has publicly declared an amnesty for all umpires, and as long as they don't make eye contact with her, they are safe for the rest of the season. As if this wasn't enough, Tammy acted sensibly, maturely and decisively in actually removing herself from the fray after about 20 minutes, and when she was still in one piece. Wonders will never cease, so it was rather surprising to see Fran on the pitch without her pads on - no-one got past her, though turning into the D with the ball was rather a novel way to clear her lines!
When we eventually found the goal, they came thick and fast (Sandy 2, Tracy 2, Liv 1). The final score (5-0) could have been much higher had Tracy found her range, but it must have been a relief to their keeper as she never gave up, hitting the ball with increasing ferocity, and just a little exasperation. The forward unit played well, moving the ball about and trying to get it to do most of the work. As always, our back 5, marshalled by Zoe in goal, and Ant in the middle, made life very difficult for the opposition. The only worry was seeing Heidi limping off before the end - hope it is not serious. Man of the match was Sarah. She played with increasing maturity and composure as the game went on, spurred on by the challenge of running at least twice the distance of any of the rest of us, Ant excluded.
