Tammy ignites afterburners in 3-2 victory.

Sadly this game was not really played in the spirit befitting division 5 fixtures. Sandy was not the only one whose patience, and discipline, was severely tested, so it was very satisfying to come away with a hard fought 3-2 victory.
The game started well with Reading exerting all the pressure and Wokingham's long hits out of defence showed their mounting frustration. Tracy H scored the first goal finishing off a nicely worked move down the middle by pouncing on a through ball from Henna. If the captain had got her feet facing in the right direction she might have added a second soon after from a beautifully directed cross from Sandy. Luckily it didn't take long for Sandy to score our second, though I must have been mesmerised by all her fiddling about in the build up, as I have no recollection of how she scored it!
With Wokingham reorganising in the middle, we seemed to panic, allowing them to dominate the play either side of half time and draw level at 2 a piece. The increasing noise from their home supporters seemed to galvanise our team to step up the pace. It is always dangerous to risk Tammy's ire, as this just means she ignites the Guinness fuelled turbo chargers, dazzling all who get in her way with lightening pace and beguiling skill. If in doubt, she just runs straight and woe betide anyone who gets in her way. For the forwards it's always a pleasure to see her in our attacking third, though what her fellow defenders think is anyones guess! The pressure began to tell and we managed to win some penalty corners. One was converted by Sandy, only for it to be disallowed by the umpire at the other end. This really got the competitive juices going as we surged forward again and again. Once again, Tracy H showed what a natural forward she is as she seized her chance to put the ball past their keeper, and allowed us to close out the rest of the game and leave our un beaten run in the league intact. Man of the match was Tammy, though special mention should go to Karen, Henna and Tracy M for their determined man marking which kept their star players quiet.
