Reading Ladies Over 35s started the league in style beating Romsey 6-1. It was Romsey’s first game in the league so we decided to sensibly take the photo before the match began.
With one dispatched to A&E following a head butting incident and Dr Kim having to swap her stick for steri strips, a photo at the end might have been interesting. The match was very even in the first half with Jude scoring an amazing P flick. 1 0 seconds into the second half, Shazza decided to plant her forehead on one of the oppo’s noses and blood stopped play.
Play then resumed and a 10 player Romsey team were no match for the confident Reading team. Goals were inevitable and it was great to see Mary, Amanda, Jane (2) and Shazza all score. Denise was incredible in goal making some fabulous saves. All in all a great start to the season which ended with pizza, tea and cake.
Thank you to Stephen Smyth and Will Mann for umpiring. Looking forward to our next game.
Well done team a great start.
