Reading Boys U18b through to next round of EH Tier 3 Cup

A determined performance from the Reading U18b team saw them hang on to a 2-1 half time lead to beat the mixed Hampstead & Westminster/Eastcote U18 side. On a bright sunny afternoon at the Lane the boys started confidently and were soon 1-0 up from a well taken shot by Will Green. HWE managed to equalise with a reverse stick shot the found the far corner of the Reading goal. Reading then managed a second to take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was a more even contest with HWE pressing the Reading defence. Saxby the Reading keeper was called upon to make several top class game winning saves as the defence we kept on their toes. HWE won numerous short corners but a combination of good running by the defence and great keeping from Saxby ensured none were converted.

There were good U18 debuts for Ethan Lacey and Alex Mclaughlin and Will Green carried on in the confident style he has been playing with for the Rascals.

The U18b's all have tremendous spirit and hardworking ethic and played really well together today to earn the win.
