Win against N&T
With a bunch of new youngsters to the side and a few old face to round them together the game began with a goal within the first 2 minutes. This gave the rebels team the confidence to keep attacking hard until we were fully dominating possession. We held shape effectively due to Karen and Sarah who held the middle line of the pitch and communicated with the team. This meant we broke through the opposition's attack by passing the ball back to our defence where Karen, Jenner, Krishna, Jo and Lucy transferred the ball; changing the line of attack. This created opportunities for the wingers: Honor, Freya and Alex who dribbled up the side making passes to upfront, where Kayla and Holly took numerous shots on goal. In the second half of the game, the Rebels gained roughly 6 short corners. Firstly Sarah received the ball right hitting it into the bottom left corner of the goal, secondly, Lucy stopped the ball and passed it right to Honor who hit in behind the keeper into the goal. The same technique was used once again, and Lucy passed the ball left Freya who also hit it in. However, the opposition managed to play the ball back and recover a short corner of their own, but before they have the chance to shoot the defence hit the ball out swiftly. Despite the great pressure, the defence was putting their attack under, later on, in the game, the opposition did manage to score. Luckily this was followed by some great defending by Krishna on the right who retrieved the ball and passed it out to the wing. This resulted in 3 more goals from Kayla, Freya and Holly, consequently, the rebels won, 6 - 1. MOM to Honour with Freya as runner up. A big Thank you to Hattie and Amanda Cran who played a 2nd match and helped the oppo as they only had 10 men having lost players to the higher teams. Then to Jenny Jones
for stepping in after an unfortunate clash of heads resigned one of the N&T players on the sideline.
