Club Day, AGM and Fundraising Tournaments

Our action-packed Club Day includes a Charity Hockey Festival, AGM, adult 7-aside, performance matches, pizza & burgers, Aspire, One Physio, ...

We are holding our annual Club Day on Saturday September 4th; this year involving our Hockey AGM and a Charity Hockey Tournaments raising money for both Sport in Mind and the Club.

From 9:30 to 12:00, our Colts (U14 and below) have a Charity Kids & Parents 7-a-side festival
• Please sign up by accepting the age group selection pitchero request.
• Entry is £10 per person and includes burger or pizza afterwards. Please bring cash on the day or, if you can make a donation in advance, we are accepting donations via Virgin Giving with this link: www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/rhcbalcony.
• Mums and Dads are welcome to play, we have a few spare sticks for parents without one.
• Each 7-aside team will be supported by performance squad players.

From 11:30 to 12:00, we have a presentation and question session from Holly Cram from Aspire USA.
Aspire USA provide selective admissions and sport scholarship services to talented student athletes looking to study and play sport at American universities and colleges. This talk is open to all young people (not just club members and not just hockey players) interested in studying in the US, so please mention it to your friends and family.

Then from 12:00 to 12:45 we have our Hockey AGM. As well as the usual voting in, there is an opportunity to come and meet your board and ask informal questions. Apologies for absence, please email secretary@readinghockeyclub.org.uk.

From 13:00 to 15:30, we have a mixed, adult, 7-aside-tournament.
• Open to all adults, U16 and U18 colts players, as well as the Vets Section and our Back to Hockey Squad. New members are also welcome. n to all our U16, U18, adults, vets and Back to Hockey members
• Entry is £10, paid by donation to www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/rhcbalcony or cash, and includes a burger or pizza from Alex afterwards. Please have confirmation of online payment to hand.
• Anna and Ted will organise the teams on the day, with us all mixed up - the emphasis is about fun, catching up with friends and getting those hockey legs working again!
• Please update your Pitchero availability for the 4th so we can get an idea on numbers

• Team selection starts at 12:45.

Finally, from 16:00 you can recover with a beer (or soft drink), watching the Ladies Performance teams prepare for the season with a couple of friendly matches, all while catching up with friends. We then have an unofficial social in planning for anyone wanting to head into town for the evening.

We’re looking forward to a great day with a bit of a run about, catching up with everyone, watching a bit of hockey and finding out about the club’s plans for the coming season.

We have some fundraising stalls selling our new branded water bottles and face masks (10:00 till 14:00), as well as Alex from Arlo & Chef serving food all day and the Hungry Hut and Thames suite bar serving refreshments!
