We are on the lookout for a new Head Coach of our Men's 2nd XI.

The Head Coach to the Reading Hockey Club Men’s 2s Squad [part of the Men’s Performance Squad] is responsible for the Men’s 2s Squad outdoor Training Programme, to include:

Work with the Coaching Team and Team Manager of the Men’s 1s Squad to implement the vision and strategy for the Men’s Performance Squads in line with the Club’s vision, including strategy, tactics, playing principles, talent development of any age, succession planning, within the confines of the agreed annual budget;

Define and agree the principles with which the Men’s 2s Squad operates in support of the that strategy and Talent Development strategy to include regulatory parameters of league and competitions.

Oversee all aspects of match play for the Men’s 2s Squad, including team selection and strategy, in South Central Premier Division, National Cup and friendly matches.

Provide input and feedback to squad members, developing players throughout the season and driving the performance of the Men’s 2s Squad.

Work proactively with Coaching Team & Team Manager of the Men’s 1s Squad and Men’s Section Committee, Men’s Section coaches and Captains to provide feedback to players where appropriate (e.g. non-selection).

Help and provide support and guidance to the Men’s Section Coaches by cascading the principles for performance and development of club players, where feasible.

Provide video analysis support for the Men’s 2s Squad.

Such other services related to these services as may reasonably by required by the Club from time to time.

Remuneration
This role provides a negotiable fixed fee per season to include attendance at all training sessions and matches – based on full attendance at Tuesday & Thursday training plus all matches home & away.
Travel expenses will be paid at 25p per mile and any other reasonable expenses will be reimbursed on a pre-approved basis.
