Whilst some of you are enjoying the summer and some down time from hockey. Men’s 1s player Harrison Smith alongside his brother Spencer and former RHC members Jolyon Summers & Seb De Pedro who have completed an incredible cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End in memory of their close friend Peter Jenkins who sadly lost his life in 2022.
A huge congratulations to you all for completing such an incredible challenge for a great cause.
A few words from the Team…
“Not only do we remember Pete as a kind, selfless and humble friend, but also as an extremely motivated and determined character. Pete dedicated himself to his role as a platoon commander in The 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, and his passion which lay in the work he did preserving the wildlife of Tsavo National Park, Kenya.
To this end, we thought it fitting to remember Pete by setting ourselves a challenge to conquer, just as he did so regularly and successfully throughout his life.
We cycled some one thousand miles self-supported from John O’Groats to Land’s End while remembering our mate, who we wish we could do these things with but nevertheless lucky to have known him for the time we did.
Any donations will be kindly received by the two charities we’ve chosen, reflecting Pete’s passion, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and his dedication, SUPPORT OUR PARAS. We would love to raise an equal amount for both, with your support.”
