Will has played hockey for a number of years and has spent the last 10 years playing in South Regional 1/2 leagues. When Will moved to Reading for work, Reading Hockey Club was the perfect choice! He has held a number of leadership roles within hockey in various clubs, and he is excited to be captaining RHC 4’s team this season. The team’s ambition for the season under his leadership is to: foster a great team spirit both on, and off, the pitch and building on last year’s successes, finish the season in the top half of the table.
The 4XI holds an important role in the Club representing Reading HC in the South Hockey MBBO Regional 2 league, playing teams from across Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. We are the highest positioned 4th XI in the South League. Our team is a mix of young talented hockey players breaking through into performance adult hockey and some more experienced players still wishing to play at a good standard. Over the years a number of the team’s youngsters have gone on to play 1XI hockey for the Club and beyond. Whilst the experience in the side helps foster and encourage the youngsters, these more experienced players' prioritise playing a competitive match on a Saturday followed by a few well-earned beers!
If you are interested in playing hockey at RHC or in particular for the 4XI, please contact Will on the link below, or contact Club Captain Chris Powell, or simply turn up to training.
