We played Marlow again on Sunday for a re match after the previous weekend’s 2:1 win. Marlow were keen for a different result and put us under pressure from the start, marking tightly and making it very difficult for us to link up more than one or two passes. To cope with this we should try and maintain our composure, giving the earlier pass whilst making sure it is accurate with suitable pace.
We did work very hard to win the ball back once it had been given away and matched Marlow with their intensity.
Our transfer was good but we need to use it more higher up the pitch. Secondly we should increase the ball pace and time it take us to make the pass round the back.

During the first half we attacked really well along the left hand channel and through the middle of the pitch, leading to a few opportunities in the D, however we didn’t tend to use the right hand side of the pitch enough.
In the second half we stepped up the pressure, we were better organised and managed to keep our shape and were rewarded by a great goal from Tabs (set up by Flo) who remained calm when finding herself 1on1 with the goalie.

We started to link our passes better and regain our composure. Millie scored the second goal with a fantastic reverse hit giving us a 2:0 lead.

Marlow continued to fight but any shots on goal were defended by Abbie who showed that she can never be beaten!
Towards the end of the gain we could have slowed things down a bit and concentrated on keeping possession, reducing the opportunity for marlow to arrack and score.

Overall it was a great result but we could get even better by remaining calm when under pressure and giving earlier, more accurate passes.
