Reading Boys U18b have beaten local rivals Maidenhead 6-3 in what was a closely contested match today. On what was a very warm autumn afternoon the team had to work hard before their superiority shone through in the second hard. A tight game saw the score go 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 and reach half time at 2-2. After a good half time team talk by Josh Bretherton the boys applied some of his suggestions well and after reaching 3-2 and 3-3 managed to push forward to eventually win 6-3. The second half performance saw them move away from the opposition who noticeably tired as the game progressed. The score could have been far higher had all the opportunities been taken in the end.
All the players worked hard and well as a team. Thanks to Seb Marsden (GK), Will Green, Nathan Warwick and Harpreet Panesar for stepping up from the U16 at short notice.
